Safety Protocols

For a high school production of a boxing opening scene, we believe implementing practical and achievable safety protocols is essential.

Use protective gear like padded gloves and, if possible, headgear, to minimize the risk of injury.

Rehearsals: Practice boxing moves slowly and deliberately, prioritizing control and safety over speed or intensity.

Responsible adult, knowledgeable in basic first aid, supervising the rehearsals and the actual filming.

Emergency Services on Speed Dial

Safe Environment: the area should be clear of hazards,

Regular water breaks: Especially important due to the physical activity required for filming.

After filming the scene, check on all participants to make sure no one has sustained any injuries.

Seatbelts: When driving between filming locations.

Title Design Blog

For our final task, they are currently are a lot of factors to the title design that help flow and balance with the recurring genre of our movie. For the choice of our fonts, currently we are looking at using either Facon or Patriotic Demo font. Both fonts help capture the intense and rough environment from boxing. When it comes to the contrast of our fonts, it is something that we didn't undermine. The color should not blend in the background but rather maintain a vibrant and clear presence but at the same time not take too much of the viewers attention. We have been deciding on different shades of dark red and stark blacks for the color choice of our title design. Then there is the introduction and conclusion of our titles, how they come and go. We plan to have them choreography along with the actions of our character of our movie, for example, we plan to have the words burst onto the screen with the force of a knock out punch, with then each title leaving its mark before leaving the screen. Timing is key as well, the fonts should be long enough for the audience to absorb the information but quick enough to maintain up with the pace of our film. For the overall title of our film, for right now we have agree on the title, Rings of Resilience. Of course, titles can evolve, but this captures the essence of our protagonist and the overall message of the film, a comeback and not giving up, the trait of resilience.

Title Research: Art of the Title Website

I'm exploring the Art of the Title website to understand more about how titles in movies are designed. This site seemed like the perfect place to research, with it being dedicated to showcasing the artistic side of title sequences. It contains a vast collection of title sequences from various movies, in addition to interviews from movie writers and directors. the website provides an opportunity to analyze and learn from different styles and techniques. My primary goal is to grasp why title design is crucial in the opening moments of a film. Art of the Title seems like a website that can offer the insights needed into the creative process behind making title sequences. Additionally, I appreciate that the website is user-friendly, being extremely easy to scroll through different genres and movies. Through my research on this site, I hope to identify patterns and trends in title design. Additionally, I hope to discover what makes certain titles stand out and how they contribute to setting the tone for the entire movie.
