CCR

We wanted to combine our own creative elements with the established hip-hop music genre conventions in our music video project. After reviewing the material we gathered for our "hip-hop" genre, we discovered that our video included a number of elements that are typical of that genre. For instance, the city environment in which we shot parts of our music videos in residential areas. Dancing is another example, as demonstrated in the scene where we are freestyling on the escalator. But in order to break away from the standard hip-hop music video conventions, we also added some of our own elements, like non-luxurious objects like prop money or fake checks and unusual settings like CVS, the low-budget store. We purposefully did this to show off our group's inventiveness and give our music video a new angle. In addition, various social groups and issues are represented in our music video. Our intention was to showcase various socio-economic groups in our scenes in order to illustrate the unity among the community. In an effort to highlight positive role models who advance societal progress, the video aims to depict these invented, affluent, above-average characters giving back to the lower classes. The video tackles subtle social and economic issues while maintaining an overall joyful and upbeat vibe through dancing and laughing. Scenes demonstrating random acts of kindness and community involvement support the message of harmony and the transformational potential of group good deeds. As a result, the music video aims to combine entertainment with meaningful representation, building a sense of community and inspiring viewers to think about the larger social context in which the song is set. It is not just about a fun song.

There are a few different reasons why our video stood out from the others. First of all, our music video is superb. Compared to most student-made music videos, ours has a better overall look and feel in terms of backgrounds, colors, and shots because we used the most recent iPhone model, which has the best camera quality. Our music video's entertainment value and ability to capture viewers' attention are two more reasons why it's unique. We used clearly low-budget props in our music video to mimic the lavish props used in Drake's actual God's Plan music video. This involved having the characters act as though everything was real while using prop money, shopping at less upscale establishments, and writing fake checks. This gives our music video a fun and carefree vibe, illustrating our attempt to emulate Drake while making the most of our available resources. The final factor is our video's emotional content. In our video, we attempt to tell the story of giving back to the community in half of the scenes. Examples of this include paying for people's groceries, giving away cars, and giving checks to the underprivileged. In order to promote a sense of unity and positivity as well as an overall uplifting message and captivating visuals, the film aims to capture real moments of community engagement, random acts of kindness, and celebration of diversity. This makes our video stand out as a worthwhile and entertaining watch. If this were a professional video, we would strategically distribute it on a number of different platforms in order to increase its impact and audience. Due to its extensive accessibility and worldwide audience, YouTube would be our first choice for release. Additionally, because the content is visual, it is perfect for sharing on social media sites like TikTok, where brief but powerful videos have the potential to go viral and draw attention to our video from a wide audience. Additionally, utilizing Twitter and Instagram for audience interaction and behind-the-scenes content would enhance the release strategy.

Our team's production abilities were really helpful throughout the entire project, which was a huge help. It started with the brainstorming process. Our ability to recognize ideas and themes that connected with the song's message became more proficient when we were considering which song to use for our project. We quickly recognized God's Plan as a good choice when searching for songs because we were able to translate the cultural and social elements found in the lyrics and video into visual concepts for our own. Things like the project's start time, the times and locations for everyone to film, and who was in charge of obtaining the necessary props and items were all important considerations when organizing the development of our video production. Our ability to interact with other group members and communicate more effectively has improved thanks to the coordination of everything. Better organizational and logistical skills were also required for budget and resource planning because of the limited amount of props and time we had. Optimizing impact while balancing budgetary constraints improved our resource management skills. In addition, we had to create a storyboard. Creating one for this music video forced me to gain a deeper comprehension of shot composition, pacing, and how each scene contributed to the overall story. It also helped me hone my visual storytelling abilities. Our music video project allowed us to hone our production skills in controlling the dynamics of the set, which required better communication and leadership abilities. For example, we were able to quickly improvise when we realized that the weather would pose a problem for our car in the bow scene. We changed the scene slightly to fit the current setting while maintaining the overall flow of the video, demonstrating the flexibility and adaptability skills we had developed during spontaneous moments. Lastly, having to edit our music video for impact during post-production helped me hone my editing skills. This required experimenting with timing, picking the strongest shots, and enhancing emotional resonance with visual effects.

We used a variety of tech integration techniques for our music video. First off, we decided to use the most recent iPhone available—the iPhone 15 Pro—for filming. The iPhone's sophisticated camera features, which enabled us to take excellent footage with amazing clarity and dynamic range, were the main factor in our decision. The iPhone's portability allowed us flexibility when filming on location, allowing us to easily film in any location and choose the angle we wanted to use at that moment. We selected CapCut for editing because of its robust editing features and easy-to-use interface. For a project this size, its accessibility made it the perfect option. It provided a smooth editing experience with a variety of creative tools, including text selection, cropping, syncing music, and more. We were able to experiment with visual effects, pacing, and transitions thanks to the software's efficiency and versatility, which enhanced the music video's overall impact. Because of its ease of use, Blogger was chosen for the entire blogging process. We were able to easily document our journey, share behind-the-scenes insights, and establish a connection with the reader of the blog thanks to the platform's simple design. Because of its ease of use, we were able to maintain a streamlined and accessible blogging process for both authors and readers. In the end, the platforms and tools we selected supported our objective of making a memorable music video.

Music Video

Hey enjoy I worked hard on this thanks for watching!

Production Blog

Good Morning Cambridge, my group and I have finished all of the edits. And we are now completely done with our project. This involved a lot of peer review and time during, after and before school. For example, Renato and I would show off our video to fellow classmates asking their opinions and taking a poll on what revisions to make. Conner, handled the editing. He has much experience with this. Due to the fact that he used to make Fortnite montages. Isahiah due to his high instagram following set up a poll to see if people liked certaian scenes and in what order. I showed the video to my parents and asked for constructive criticism. The feedback tehy gave was extremely helpful and influenced our project to turn out the way it did. Our teamwork and our work ethic were the foundation of a successful mesic video. We were able to complete everything in 2 days. Even though, some of our member didn’t know eachother in the beginning, we meshed as a team in no time. This music video has taught me how to balance having fun, but also to due diligence and work cooperatively in a group setting. It has also taught me how to use CapCut and film on just and iPhone.
